3rd Grade Reading Law
The Michigan Legislature passed the "Third-Grade Retention Law" (PA 306) in 2016 to ensure that students exiting 3rd grade are reading at or above grade level beginning in the 2019-2020 school year. Anchor Bay has developed a Parents' Read At-Home Plan for Student Success to assist parents in partnership with their students' teacher to develop the strong reading skills necessary for student learning. If you have questions on the plan and how to implement it at home, please see your students' building principal or contact the Curriculum Office at 586-725-2861.
